The Magic of Mouth Tape

Have you heard of mouth taping?

cause its amazing

Sleep hygiene has been all of the rage in the wellness industry recently, and rightfully so. Just like food and water, our body needs sleep to survive. When we lay in our bed at night, our cells are hard at work! Repairing themselves, reorganizing, communicating, and getting rid of toxic byproducts built up throughout the day.

The wellness queen herself, Lauryn Bosstick from The Skinny Confidential started talking about mouth taping a year ago. Although that perked my interest, I never thought about trying it myself because not only does it sound a bit bizarre, but I'm a damn good sleeper.

But a chronic mouth breather!

Which was leading to concentration issues, being fatigued after eight hours of sleep, and lingering feelings of anxiety.

No matter what you eat, how much you exercise, how skinny or young or wise you are, none of it matters if you’re not breathing properly.

Why tape your mouth at night?

Not only is mouth breathing associated with severe sleep disorders like snoring or sleep apnea, but it is also the root cause of many long-term disadvantages, including sore throat, tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath.

And yes, simple piece of tape at night can help solve these problems!

The Benefits I Experienced

Enhanced focus: Seriously, my brain fog is gone.

Deeper sleep: I feel so well rested nowadays, I truly feel like I have deeper sleep when I mouth tape.

Reduced anxiety: When we breathe through our mouth, we are more prone to take shallow, quick breaths, which signals our body to go into flight or fight mode. Nasal Breathing stimulates our parasynthetic nervous system. Slow, deep breaths have a calming effect on the body.

Reduced inflammation: There are claims that mouth tape can tighten your jaw line. Now, I won’t claim that, but I will say my face is less puffy in the morning.

I have also noticed that I am less prone to mouth breathing throughout the day!

Proper sleep is directly related to having a healthy, holistic life. So why not hack your way to having the best, most efficient sleep every night?

Take it from Daddy Huberman himself.

(If you know you know okay)
All people can sleep much better by nose breathing, and one way to do this is taping your mouth shut. This prevents snoring in most cases, improves sleep, daytime focus will improve, cardiovascular health will improve and on and on.

This is the mouth tape I use!
